Murray was interviewed by Elizabeth O’Connor in 2014 after they met at an organ concert and discovered that their fathers were sailing friends from the 1930s at Vaucluse Amateur 12 Footers Sailing Club.  Murray was born in his grandparents’ home in Cambridge Avenue, studied music at the Conservatorium and later became an oral surgeon.  He had a great love of his local area, and despite living in Lindfield, regularly returned to Vaucluse to attend the Uniting Church in Russell Street and meet with old friends.  Murray contributed enthusiastically to our book and sadly passed away just before our book launch.
